Branded the Claudia Kishi of her friend group, Stephanie Leke is a writer, producer, and singer originally from Massachusetts. The daughter of Cameroonian immigrants, she grew up toggling between opposing cultures. It was through music that she found her foothold and community within the local punk and hardcore scene.

After graduating from the music program at Hofstra University, she yo-yoed between performing and a career in public relations. As a publicist, she learned the art of storytelling, one of many skills that helped her eventually pivot into television and film production.

She writes female-driven stories often centering Black women existing in spaces they’re traditionally erased from. In 2023, she was accepted into the Writers Guild Foundation Writers' Access Support Staff Training Program and was a finalist for Color Creative's Find Your People Program. Currently working in nonfiction, her recent credits include Mary J. Blige’s My Life (Amazon Studios), Harry & Meghan (Netflix), and the upcoming Pharrell Williams Lego biopic Piece by Piece.

When she's not working, you can find her at a concert or play, checking out a new art exhibition, binge-watching an excessive amount of television, or trying to finish all the books in her stack before buying more. She also writes the monthly music and culture newsletter, No, I'm Not An Aries.
